I had such a fantastic week with you all! I'm so excited to work with you this year!
Last week, we began discussions about Worldview, which will be the theme of Social Studies all year long. We worked through the 7 factors of Worldview, as seen in the image below. Get to know these words and symbols because they will come up in everything we do!
This week, we have done some reflecting on ourselves in our Tagxedos, which will be displayed for your parents for Thursday's Meet the Teacher event.
Mr. Staveley will be joining us to help us learn more about worldview through storytelling on Wednesday.
We will also be working on some mapping skills so we can begin to picture the places we will study this year.

Welcome!
This will be my first year teaching grade 8, and I'm super excited! We have some awesome civilizations/time periods to explore in Social Studies: the Renaissance, the Aztecs and Japan!
In Language Arts, we will work on building up your paragraph writing, expanding reading comprehension, and exploring worldview.
It's going to be a great year!!
